The writing on this book was fairly decent, and I enjoyed it to a certain extent, but the massive drama-fest really didn't appeal to me. Madison has built a really amazing life for herself far away from the MC she grew up in. However, the past is catching up to her, and after a two-year absence, her brother (the VP of the club) and her father (the president) have sent J, her former flame and the man who broke her heart, out to bring her back. Supposedly to protect her, she's being strong-armed into returning so the club can keep her safe her while they hunt down Nix, a psycho from another club that Madison dated while she was drowning her angst in alcohol. Madison has a weird love/hate relationship with the MC, and often goes back and forth about whether she really wants to be there or not.

Predictably, J and Madison rekindle their affair, but there is a lot of relationship drama, screaming, and several misunderstandings thrown in. While a bit annoying, that part didn't bother me as much as some of the other drama in the book because, let's face it, J and Madison don't have a lot of relationship experience, nor do they have good role models. Well, the bad guy is caught and dealt with startlingly quickly, and everything seems fine for about five minutes. Then another psycho pops out of the woodwork to threaten Madison's life. Psycho number two is also dealt with quickly and abruptly, only for us to find out that Madison's father has a secret family that he's been hiding for the last twenty years or so. Not only does the secret brother suddenly decide that he wants to be a part of the MC family after a couple decades of ignoring them, we also find out that Madison's father likes to hit her mother. The mother justifies staying with him for all these years, and Madison rationalizes the abuse and her mother's acceptance of this abuse by saying it, "Made her mother a strong person." Not just no, but hell no.

For me, the ongoing drama was bad enough, but the abuse between Madison's parents and the author's casual rationalization of it was just too much for me. Especially when Madison decides to ditch her new and awesome life to stay with a pack of messed-up jerks. This story just didn't do it for me, and I can't see myself reading anything else by this author in the future.

Storm Storm MC #1 edition by Nina Levine Romance eBooks Reviews

I want to say that I loved this MC novel! Nina Levine writes strong leading women, which is much appreciated in an MC novel. Not every woman is a dumb ditz.

A traumatic event happened to Madison, which led her into a downward spiral. She gets mixed up with a rival MC that brings down their wrath on her father's MC. Madison is sent away and cleans up her act only to find out that trouble has a way of finding her. Her ex-boyfriend, J, is sent to bring her back to the club to ensure her safety. Needless to say, she's not happy about the situation. He broke her heart when he sent her away, but she still loves him.

Fast forward a bit, Madison is back in the thick of things and her life is in jeopardy. In typical MC fashion, there's a shootout and people have to deal with the aftermath. J and Madison work on their relationship, but hit some rough patches. They are both strong-willed people, so it'll be a rough road ahead. Secrets are revealed; relationships are tested. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
There are so many things that go on in this book and it took away from the storyline. It feels like the author rushes through and skips over things that should be important to the plot remaining on course, yet it was lost. There is so many anomalies, questions and possibilities but I am not certain if I will read another book in this series any time soon. Too much details are missing. It's rather basic and not laced with enough comebacks to overshadow the missing content leaving spotty plot holes. I never felt the connection between Jason and Madison and don't feel like we got to witness enough of the relationship buildup to make me invested in the couple especially when the book begins with Madison giving another guy a blow job. After many chapter, I screamed "WTF" because this story travel the route of another very popular book with it's hero and I was so angry and highly upset. I will not read the next book but REALLY want to stress a good editor is needed to complete scenes. I also like to say ths is the first time reading a book by this author and DEFINITELY the last.
Where do I start?? First Madison is just dumb because she grew up in the MC lifestyle and makes the decision to date some guy from a rival MC. The flow of the story didn't work it was too much for the first book (characters/storyline). No character was very interesting. Madison wanted so much respect and to be told what was going with the club yet she could not handle the situation with Rob and the MC protecting her and that is when she ran to the rival gang. Where was all this sass when dealing personal situations it only came out when dealing with those she knew wouldn't hurt her... club members. She finally got her life on track somewhat and she thought she was just going to be able to come back and her word was law taking care of Bec daughter? Seriously. I usually don't write a review this long but this was a very frustrating read. Madison blamed the club for all things bad in her life yet not give any credit to the MC for getting her out of some messed up situations. So in this scenario Madison needs to grow up.
